My hair has gone through a lot over the last four years. Here’s a recap of the journey so far from Nov 2013, to now July 2016:

TWA Stage (Phase 1)

Awkward Stage (Phase 2)

Too long to be TWA, but too short to be styled well

And…officially Stage 2:

There’s a mom with an adopted black daughter and she takes such wonderful care of her daughter’s hair. She comes up with beautiful styles that look good on children and adults. If you’re lacking natural hair-styling inspiration, check out her posts. Also, if you have children these styles are time savers.

There’s a cool flat twist style. here:

Eating on Display

Dallas BBQ with Miki and the big bro

So I have a weird quirk where I don’t like sitting in restaurant store windows. (See above picture). I’ve been told sitting there brings in more customers and makes the place look desirable. But I’m a people-watcher, and I don’t like (knowing that) I’m being watched back. When I’m eating I feel as if I’m sitting behind double sided glass, I can see out but no one can see in. I don’t know where I got this notion lol, but it stuck.

Recently I was forced to sit in the window due to lack of space at one of my favorite haunts in Koreatown (Woorijip on 32nd), and boy were people all up IN MA PLATE! Now I get what’s it liked lol. Will I stop people watching? Nope. But you won’t catch me eating in storefronts anymore either.

Until next time n_n

Kurly Klips! Want them!

Image

Been a savin’ and a scrimpin’. I can’t wait to own these. I’m aiming to own these for Winter 2014.

So the lowdown on these klips. They’re 100% human hair and run by Lana Boone, a woman with a great hair journey. She has tons of helpful tips and and stuff on her youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/KurlyKlips

UPDATE 06/16

I actually bought these in March 2015, its been a year and a half and I have been happy with them. My hair is actually closer to 2 color than 1B, and so was the donor’s hair so luckily I did not have to dye them, but dye them I did lol. Here’s a pic of me wearing my klips n_n, a detailed post about them coming sooon.

I’m a Weeb, I think…

Hello! My name is Chanaia and I have a language addiction. Some would say I’m a weeabo (someone obsessed with Japan), a Koreaboo (obv) , a Chinophile (obv). These derogatory labels are just that-labels. Do I watch anime? No. Do I like sushi? Hell no. Do I want to run away and marry a Korean oppa? Maybe lol.

What I DO know is that i really enjoy Eastern languages, specifically the asian ones. Why? I’ve no clue. I go to language meetups and we all ask each other the same question: Why are you interested in [ insert language]? They always have reasonable answers, or deep ones, such as; My spouse is from [insert foreign country] so I wanted to learn his/her native tongue, I want to watch anime without subtitles *barf*.

I have no answer. At least not a good one.

Honestly, I’m nosy AF (as f**k, for our non internet savvy readers). I just want to know whose talking smack at any given moment. At least, that’s how it began. I was twelve, and I went to the Dominican salon with a friend of mine. I lived in one of the many projects of the Bronx, and the only hair salons were run by Dominican women. Sooo we went to get $15 wash-n-sets, when I overheard a stylist call my friend a horse. Granted her face is longish and she has these big beautiful eyes that she grew into, at the time I was not amused.

I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overreacting. So I waited. Lo and behold, there it was again “caballo”. I literally had a spanish vocabulary of five words: feo/fea, dame, sientate, comida, y caballo. Ugly, give me, sit down, food, and horse. Freaking horse. I glared at the stylist and she squinted at me , wondering if I spoke Spanish or not. A week later some called called me “fea” on the bus, and that was all she wrote. I was determined to never have a language barrier again.

More on why/how I became interested in languages in my next post n_n.

As you can tell I’m terrible at blogging lol, sooooo here’s to try try again n_n. My hair has grown a lot and so slideshow. No one reads this anyway, so I’m off the hook–possibly lol. I’ve recently gotten into photography. I’m an avid hobbyist who is addicted to Adobe Lightroom. I just spent about four hours messing with it. Anywho , enjoy le pics.
