Annnd I’m back at it. Got a lot of help from my partner this time with the parts and spacing. Reused the same hair from last time. Click here for a short timelapse video of the takedown.

Here’s what I used:
***********************************************

Le process took about 6 hours. But it should last around 3 weeks or so, fingers crossed. We started with freshly blow-dried hair and a trim ( I don’t recommend this, the ends do not blend well with rope twists after a fresh trim)
(aforementioned trimmed hair)

Here’s me pouting cause he wouldn’t let me help lol

And finally the end result:

That’s that folks. ( I’m not angry lol just can’t see well when my glasses are off center).

Given that this is a personal hair blog, and today happens to be Thursday. I thought I’d share miniTBG from waaayy back in 4th grade.

Young TBG had very damaged hair. My mom gave me a “Super Perm” at the tender age of 8 years old, and most of my hair fell out. Three years later she would attempt again and it took the rest out.
This photo is also evidence of a burgeoning otaku, the early signs of a future cosplaying, track running, blog posting, culture-o-phile oddball.
If I happen to have some readers from outside of the States, I’ll breifly explain the African American system of relaxers/perms:
There’s tons more that goes into all of this, but I’ll save it for my future dissertation in grad school lol.

This is another style compliments of one of my favorite YouTubers Adanna Madueke: The “Ninja Bun” with bangs.

Oh how I have missed bangs! I love the way they frame my face. I just din’t want to sacrifice my beautiful curls for heat damage. With this style you can create a faux bang that is flattering and 100% customization. It’s a single pack of braining hair. Gel your hair up into a pony, wrap the hair around and leave some hanging on the edge to use for the bang later. Cut, frame and shape, and voila~
And here’s a selfie gallery LOL

And that’s all she wrote! See you next time.

Took about 5 hours but dint come out too badly. Was a team effort and I am proud of our work. I used 1 pk of pre-stretched 3 bundle braiding hair #1B, and 1 pack of Expressions braiding hair #1B. I had my guy help me with my parts, he even braided a bit too! I used the rubber band method that I learned from one of my favorite YouTubers: Adanna Madueke
Here are the results, debuted at work the next day:

This is an example of some of the hair I use:

Recently picked up the extra volume 3C ponytail from my favorite vendor Kurlyklips. I brushed out the piece and voila! C’est magic!

So I wrote about trying headwraps in a previous post. I’m still enjoying it. At around $22 it has a great deal of value n_n. It’s really versatile and fun to play with and make my own. I wore it as a shirt to a BBQ recently lol, I don’t have any pictures unfortunately but it looked wonderful !!!
So I’d go ahead and try it, the summer is almost over.
Until next time ๐

I am uubbbeer excited about straightening my hair this year (blow out and flat iron, I’m never perming again). I only use heat in my hair every 1-2 years, so I never really know how long it is. This year I will do it in September, because I paid a lot of money ($90 silk press & trim) and it only lasted 24 hours! So this time I’m going to do it in September or October when it’s cooler out and will last longer. I went o Gio Natalya VIP Hair Salon on Liberty Ave in Queens, NY. Here’s their instagram.
Here’s before the blow out:
Here’s after, while I’m waiting for a trim and flat ironing:
Here’s the finished look, a press and curl by flat iron:
annnnd here’s the next friggin day -_-

But on the bright side, when it curled up again, the front stayed flat and made my hair look INCREDIBLE !
So that was my experience from last year. Here’s hoping this time itll stay straight longer.
I was feeling fly lol

Another life saver of mine: half wigs! They’re affordable, easy to use and a serious time saver. I like to braid the front to add style, because when I just pull my hair back it looks frizzy and just bad. Braiding helps to create a seamless illusion. I throw some cornrows in there, a few two strand twists. You’ll come to see that I repeat a braiding pattern that I like with three braids on the side, and two perimeter flat twists. The rest is messily cornrowed straight back because I dont care muahahahah.
Ahem, anyway lol. Visit your local beauty supply and check out their drawstring ponytails and half wig collection. This one is supposedly 100% human hair , I got it from my grandma actually LOL. So I don’t how much it costs, but shouldn’t be more than $30. Then again she has expensive tastes so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were around $50. But #aintnobodygottimeforthat I’m still in a post college broke phase lol. So again, *cough* local beauty supply drawstring section.
That’s it , hope my tip helped out a bit n_n
Until next time ๐
